Harold Lee Miller spent two weeks recently in southern Germany and northern France adding to his personal portolio. These images are part of a series he made near the Black Forest region in the Gengenbach area. Looking to capture the melancholy feel of the German winters he came to know as a child living near Stuttgart, Miller let the snow reveal the patterns of the grape trellises and trees, creating photographs that evoke the peace and silence present when thick clouds muffle the sound and soften the light.
